Its mountainous equivalent may give shelter from Scotland’s wintery weather conditions, but Glasgow’s newest pop up bar The Fish Plaice Festive Bothy brings an urban version to the city centre – offering the weary a snug place to rest and revive after shopping, with a delicious menu from the world renowned Fish Plaice market and our authentic Belgian beer.

The team behind our summer pop up, Heverlee at Tontine, have opened the unique lane space (just off Gordon Street) to offer food from Scottish seas and land, perfect to enjoy with a pint of Heverlee. On the menu will be fresh oysters, fish pies and traditional Scottish Cullen Skink, plus a daily menu of unexpected specials. Delicious seasoned chicken will be on offer from street food chefs, On Rotation Rotisserie, as well as Porchetta Pork Roast and sautéed potatoes.

Festive drinks take influence from the artisan winter markets of Leuven, with Heverlee Lager and Witte served alongside mulled wine, hot chocolate, hot cider and Prosecco.

The Fish Plaice Festive Bothy is only open until the 5th of January, so pop down while you can to soak up the festive atmosphere, share some great seafood and, of course, enjoy a pint of Heverlee.

Whether you’re raising a pint in the bothy in Glasgow, at a market in Leuven or elsewhere this holiday season, I want to take the opportunity to wish you a happy Christmas and New Year…watch this space for more Heverlee updates in 2016!
